Fabulous food, good friends and great music are ingredients for a fun night out, and that’s exactly what guests experienced on Wednesday, March 18 at Irregardless Café’s Charity Beer Dinner in support of Community Music School.

The four-course dinner featured fresh, local ingredients and beer pairings from Kinston’s Mother Earth Brewery. Irregardless Café donated a portion of the proceeds to CMS and opened their stage to our talented students, teachers and board members for the evening.

Student performers included Tamla and Zane on piano, Serena on classical guitar, Tenley on cello, and Rock Band members Natalie, Jaelynn and Ian who performed their first public acoustic set. They performed a broad range of musical styles and guests responded warmly to our student musicians.

They were followed by board secretary Michael Franken, classical guitar teacher Alex Gorodezky and classical percussion teacher Matt Vooris who generously shared their talents with us for the evening.

Cindy McEnery, a board member and the chair of our events committee, was the emcee for the evening and she drummed up a lot of excitement about the school.

“We are so grateful to Irregardless for their support. Events like this give us the chance to make new friends in the community and spread the word about the incredible impact that Community Music School has on the lives of our students,” said McEnery. “That impact was evident in their performances and in the huge smiles on their faces, and we could not be prouder of them.”

We would like to thank Dodge, Aaron and the entire team at Irregardless Café for their support of our school and for coordinating this wonderful event on our behalf.
