Benefit Concert Honoring Tom McGuire

We cordially invite you to join us for the 5th Annual Brighter Futures Through Music Event! This annual event honors the late Tom McGuire’s passion for music and his dedication to children’s welfare. Tom was committed to building a better world through his philanthropy.

John Brown, accomplished musician, educator and Vice Provost for the Arts and Director of the Jazz Program at Duke University, began performing as a bassist at a young age. He will perform as well as share how his work aligns with CMS’s mission.

Ira David Wood III, award-winning actor and advocate for the arts, will host the evening of inspiring performances and moving stories.

Brighter Futures Through Music

Community Music School is a perfect match for honoring Tom McGuire’s legacy. CMS has offered high quality personalized music education to underserved Wake County youth for more than 30 years, and served over 250 students this year.

Tuition is just $1 per lesson and instruments are supplied free of charge for students’ use. Paid professional faculty are dedicated to ensuring that every child has access to the life-changing benefits of music education.

Reaching our fundraising goal of $150,000 will strengthen experiences for students as CMS expands partnerships and offerings. CMS is the only organization in Wake County that provides private, personalized music instruction in multiple genres exclusively to socioeconomically challenged students.

We appreciate all of our supporters!
